Teaching Videos
Every so often we will add new videos into the ESL classroom in China. With games updates weekly, as well as new ways to teach grammar (we all have to do it!!), our teaching videos show the most fun and practical ways to teach English in China. Videos will be posted after Chinese New Year, so come back soon to check us out! Heres our video on ‘The Walking Game’ thanks to ‘Supersimplesongs’. A great ice breaker!
Freeze Frame!
The aim of this game is for everyone to stop when you stop. I cheated a bit on this as I had a Chinese teacher tell them in Chinese first, but you can teach this without using any Chinese, just some examples. Once they are familar with the game let other students take the lead!
The Crazy Line Game
This is a great way to get students involved in a class, and to see break the ice with new students, or a new class.
Video one shows how to explain it to students, while the second video shows The Crazy Line Game in action!
Teaching numbers
The main problem I have when teaching numbers is making sure students know the difference between the ‘teens’ and the ‘tys’. This is a fast and simple game for students to review numbers.
Alligator mountain
This is a good game for kids. Its easy to play and students of all ages get excited by it!
Magic Card game
This is a fun card game. See how Paul does it and ask: How can he pick the right number?
